Boy Scouts
Boys who are 11 years old, or who have completed the Fifth Grade, are invited to join BSA Troop 717. The St. Andrew's Troop program consistently achieves the Boy Scouts of America and the Catholic Committee on Scouting objectives of service to God, service to community, character development, citizenship, and personal fitness. Typical Troop activities include: white water rafting, beach camping at Assateague Island, hike and winter camp at Sky Meadows State Park, hike the Occoquan, ski Canaan Valley, and participate in the "Scouting For Food" drive just before Thanksgiving. Cub Scouts
For over 80 years, Cub Scouts have been having the time of their lives making new friends and learning new things in an environment designed to help them succeed. From building his own pinewood derby® car to learning how to roast the perfect marshmallow with his best friends at a family campout, your son will LOVE being a Cub Scout with St. Andrew's Pack 717. All boys in Grades K through 5 are welcome to join. The monthly Pack Meeting is on a Monday at 6:15 pm. Contact Helen Martin for further details.
Girl Scouts
Girl Scouting provides girls with opportunities at the troop, service unit, and council levels to develop important life-skills while having fun with friends. Program activities include working on journeys, patch/badge activities, religious emblems, service projects, camping, scouts’ areas of interest, and leadership development. Girls of all faiths in Kindergarten through 12th grade are invited to join a Daisy, Brownie, Junior and older Girl Troops. Contact Heidi Haynes for further details.
